Hard for me personally to answer this because I dont know what else 60k could buy me in 20 years. But its a great thought process you just took with this.

If a new m3 costs $260k in 20 years, then i might pay $60k for a good condition e86m in 20yrs.
This ratio isn't too far off from paying ~$15k today for a very good condition 2002tii versus ~$65k for a new m3 today. (& it takes a special person to pay $15k for the right 2002tii today).
C'mon someone else must have an opinion on that litmus test.... (i love this stuff)
