On the Z4M, you'll need at least -2º*of front camber to clear 255s, and I'd recommend 255/35-18 instead of 255/40 since it is a better match to the OEM rolling diameter. 285/35-18 will fit on the rear 18x10" ET25 wheels with rolled fenders. 275/35-18 will be much closer to a direct fit.

255/35 is factory rolling diameter for non-M. M cars are 26” so 255/40-18 is correct. Maybe I’ll just go 245/40 and 275/35 since both front and rear are more closely matched at ~25.6”
