My rear speaker ( on the picture) miss out on some sounds and sometimes sound awful. I thought they are blown but seem fine. What do I do? Replace them or replace the wire as suggested/ implied here?
First off, the subs don't sound very good. So don't expect too much from them. If they are cutting out, then it could be the wire that is soldered in the speaker periodically touching the contact and working. But usually it either works or it doesn't. I looked into replacing them but there were not many options at the time. BMW uses a strange Ohm, I think 12 if I remember correctly. Most speakers are 2,4 or 8. And the box does not have a lot of room either, so that limits your speaker options.

I ended up just removing them, saving the weight, and enjoying the sounds of the engine!
