Bumping this thread... I am OCD going on crazy with my Z4M's interior -- when I got the inevitable scratches on the rubberized paint on the steering wheel, door controls, etc..., I just ordered new parts.
Yesterday, I got a big ugly mark on the navigation screen case - looking at the cost of a new one, replacing may not be an option. So I'm looking at doing some dyi, or going to a detailing shop to fix the damage. In the e90 forum, people are suggesting that instead of Plastidip or generic matte black paint, using Colorbond LVP #258 paint matches the original finishing, so I'm thinking a skilled detailer might be able to fill in scratches and then blend in new paint. Has anyone tried this?
Also, just to rant, but what a shame that BMW used interior materials that have the durability of toilet paper...
