2018 German sales results from Auto Bild - where does BMW stand?

In the 2018 calendar year in their home market, BMW had the biggest sales increase VS Audi and MB in their home market with +1.2%, Audi was down -9.9% and MB slightly up 0.2%. But don't rely on these numbers because it's what cars they are selling that is important.

By individual model it's not as rosy though:

- Best selling premium is the Mercedes C class with 62,784 units (5th rank overall!). Second is the Audi A4 in 7th place and 53,340 units. then the Audi A3 in 14th place with 45,901 units.

- Best selling BMW is the 1 series in 16th position (44,143 units), then the 5 series in 19th place with 42,358 units. the 3rd best-selling BMW is the 2 series (including Touring version) in 23rd place with 38,169 units.

- What about the 3/4 series you'll ask? Individually, the 3 series is in 28th place with 34,514 units and the 4 series in 81th place with 13,663 units. If you combine their sales it would represent 48,177 units or 9th place overall, still below the A4 and C class.
