Oh well... to each his/her own. I rarely use it while daily driving. Way too twitchy, I have to agree. But at the track I got accustomed to it and see a difference on accelerations and the millisecond quicker response makes going back to non-sport feel sleepy. (slight exaggeration here). At slow speeds, it doesn't help' but at higher speeds, the sport mode is good.
As for braking, correct me if I'm wrong but I notice a quicker response there also. As if the brake pads are closer to the disks so that contact is done, again, milliseconds faster.
