Hey Ross,
You have about half an inch of clearance before hitting the body. Since the tape will hold the side skirt very well, the added screw is for additional security. Just use the self tapping screws that will protrude past the CF extension and the skirt with half an inch left. That will be perfect. Then all you have to do it to put the side skirt back on.
