^ Correct. BT wasn't standard. The other thing to remember is the media renaissance that occurred while our cars were around. BT for cellular calls was a thing but car integration was not as widespread in the auto industry, let alone standard.

Mp3's (& mp3 discs) were the defacto mainstream choice for digital music while BT media streaming was fledgling. I think it was several years after the E85/86 run ended that BT streaming was picked up steam and starting to integrate into cars.
