Hi all, sorry to post on an old thread, but I'm replacing the amp in my Z4 with another compatible amp from an X3 , I'm trying to make sure the amp is coded correctly to my car. My car is a 2003 Z4 3.0i with DSP no NAV.

My questions:

1. Could I somehow reset my head unit (without any tools) and get the head unit to code/reset the amp? (It seems like you guys were trying to manually recode the amp of an E86 to settings of an E85, but since I have an E85, can I somehow "reset" it?)

2. I found a guy who provides BMW coding service in the SF bay area, but he hasn't coded an amp before, how can I help him to code the amp correctly? Here's what he said "The only thing I can do is reset defaults to the modules that are present which contain configuration. For example, the ra_ng module contains the radio configuration. I can then connect to that module and code parameters to it, or reset it to default." , would that work in coding the amp for an E85?

Thanks so much !!
