I made this same choice this summer: I run RE-71R's because my mileage is split 30/70 between track and street.
If I were to do less than 3 track days a year and lots of street driving, I would go with the MPSS because of their mileage warranty (not available for the Cup 2's unfortunately), better ride from the softer sidewalls, and less tire noise.
