Fan arrangement: Initially I had a front mounted push fan, due to foreseeable space restrictions with ARB and oil pump. As the build progressed, I swapped to pull fan, which worked ok, but at the track, I didn't feel as though I had much margin of safety. It didn't overheat, but ran a bit hot shuffling about in between runs, especially as we had a really hot summer. As a winter project, I then fabricated a ducting arrangement to use 2 fans to pull the air up to the bonnet nostril vents. This took many hours to build, as it had to fit into the required gap, with angles and curves, etc. Also, it needed to be able to be disassembled to remove it for belt access, without breaking into the cooling system. Needless to say, it JUST fits, wouldn't like to do another one! But hey, there was a noticeable improvement, the amount of air coming through the nostrils was impressive, even without the fans running. So it was worth it after all the hard work.....hopefully.
