BMW colleagues -
Preparing to install the aftermarket aluminum chargepipe which mates to the throttle body and the chargepipe is engineered to receive a specific o-ring.
Began searching this subject re how to install the o-ring to prevent damage, if and what type of o-ring assembly lubricant, etc.
Found this website that is a a quick read and provides excellent direction re preventing o-ring damage during installation, etc.
Please take a look and offer your experience and recommendation(s) re what type of lubricant to use on the o-ring prior to installation.
The website refers to ester based lubricants and petroleum distillate lubricants as well.
If you have a recommendation, please post (and hopefully a weblink) for a small tube of lubricant for my application.
