Rain-proof cover is not a good option as it traps moisture, either coming off the car or off the ground. I learned this the hard way with my first Zed.
I'd store the M away with occasional driving time. At this point it's only going to appreciate so think of it as an investment. If you were to sell the Zed, I'd get a 997 turbo instead of the C4S to get closer to the fun factor of the M in the same price range.
