Well, I have to pop into my dealer on Monday to have an airbag recall done on my X5 so if they have a new Z4 I'll get some pics for youse guys.
Beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder - or not - but regarding performance, Car and Driver gave the new Z4 a very positive review recently:

With respect to Canadian pricing, the 2006 Z43.0si was priced at around $68,000 plus tax as I recall. So with inflation over 13 years, it may be at least reasonably consistent. I couldn't find the old 2006 Globe review with that but at least this one has good pictures
