I got sick of waiting too.
Had mine at my local panel shop sprayed in black 2pac, been like this for over 5 years now with no visible wear, it is extremely durable! I think it cost me a couple of hundred bucks to prep and spray everything but it was well worth it as it will outlast the factory finish.
You could even get it done the same as your body color if it is to your taste.
