The number 2 seat for any second place team will always be a tough seat to get/keep no matter the team or rhetoric that goes with it.
Pick your poison: (i) get the opportunity to drive and lose it (albon and gasly) or (ii) stare at that carrot dangled in front of your nose and never get the opportunity (Russell and Ocon).
Different methods, different levels of finesse but equally as effective.
I enjoy both for different reasons, Max’s (RBR) rawness vs hammy’s (Mercs) calculating methods. Both are effective.
Hammy was emotionally distressed after the race, maybe waiting for the tears to stop. No shame in seeing some real unscripted emotion from the champ.
