You can't really fault RB on this. Before Verstappen's crash. They were aiming for a 1-2, not a 1-3. Street circuit is where RB get the most pts out of Mercedes. The deltas between 1-2 was 4.5s and 2-3 was 1.3s at the time of crash

If Verstappen's was slowing down to 2-3s delta to 2nd. Perez will be backed into Hamilton DRS zone. At the time, Mercedes was only slower in Sector 2; corner 7-10. Not the 90 degree corners, not the straightaway.

The 2nd question is just bc Stroll's tire blew up. Can you assume it's gonna blow up for everyone? No. Aston Martin doesn't talk to RB or know why it failed. Even now Pirelli is still trying to find out the cause. No other drivers were compensating bc of Stroll's tire.

There was no visual the RB car drove over any debris, there is no deflation or extra-wear(u would hear it on the radio). So RB felt they were in control of the situation and drive as usual. Verstappen sometimes disobey team orders, in that moment there is no reason to.
