I mean, you are going to have a mechanic do a full PDI anyways for a car like this, so even if they are shysters, a good mechanic will reveal enough.

For sure, I reached out to them via Auto trader, so waiting for a reply. I want to see if they'd be willing to bring it to a shop of my choice for a PPI (paid for by me, of course).
They're near Downsview, so I have to see how far they would be willing to bring the car to. The closest trusted shop is RMP, who's done a PPI for me in the past when I was purchasing my E90M3.
