The VT mounts (or any stiffer mounts) reduce the pendulum effect of the mass of the engine which gives the car a more stable platform.
You can feel this on something like a roundabout or chicane, when exiting you can feel the engine moving out of phase with the chassis. A stiffer mount reduces that.
Thats the only difference I noticed. The trade off is extra NVH.
Some people say there isnt any with the VT mounts but I can sense it very clearly. Not a real issue on a sporty car like a z4, and I only notice it at idle, but maybe not so suitable of the type of car like say a 5 series.
