A buddy of mine installed one on his 2.8 z3 (m52) with no other exhaust mods and it sounded glorious. It did tend to drone around 1800 or so, but if you keep it above there you should be fine.
I went with the Stromung exhaust because BB didn't offer the exhaust for a 3.0i Z4 at the time, but I would have went with BB without question.
