It could be the belt slipping but it seems unusual to me that a fairly low-resistance thing like spinning the S/C up to high idle would cause the belt to slip, even somewhat under-tensioned as it is. The car is my only transportation and obviously I have to drive it, so when I start it up in another ~15 minutes I'll get a video in case it screeches again. Should be able to post it an hour after that.

My shop also took almost a full week to do the install--5 days, because he worked the weekend due to delays associated with shipping the backordered oil cooler.
