Nothing was changed at the PU .
The Energy Store is a specialist battery specific to each Formula 1 PU that stores electricity harvested from the MGU-K and MGU-H.
The Merc battery was almost to his end of lifetime , because it gives more power than the other teams are having.
That's the Merc's MAGIC-Mode . Where it gets the crazy torque from..
Merc had to turn (a little) the electric power down . By this the Merc was 0.01sec. slower.
As far as I know is 0.01 sec NOT a difference of +/- 30 sec.
