Clutch gone at 46,000KMS?

Hey all,

My '06 ZM4C has about 46,000kms on it. I took it out the other day and seemingly overnight the clutch feels like it might be gone. Clutch engagement now happens at the very top of the pedal travel (instead of about 1/3 from the bottom) and when it does engage there is very little bite, its too smooth, almost mushy.

I'm not sure what the expected life for the clutch on this car is but this seems kinda early. My last Z4 (3.0SI) had over 100k and still no clutch issues, I had a mazda with 220k+ and never went through a clutch.

I've never tracked this car and I like to think I know how to drive it properly.

Any thoughts? Is there anything else that could cause this symptom without the clutch being worn out?

Anyone in the GTA area know a good spot to price out a new clutch? I can't imagine it's cheap.

Thanks for the help.
