To my lame ears, the Carver setup that's part of the Premium package sounds pretty damn decent, especially considering the crappy environment it's got to work with.
Just today I was out cruising with SiriusXM streaming through my iPhone, connected to the aux port via a Lightning-to-aux cable. I ASSume the aux cable has to contain a DAC - that's really the only place the digital-to-analog conversion could be taking place. I have the streaming quality set to max in the Sirus app, which is supposedly 320kbps - or about 6-8x better than the. satellite stream. It sounds fantastic. Unlimited data on my T-Mo plan so no worries there. Important to me because I live in the sticks, and there are literally zero FM stations within range that I want to listen to.
