The 06's work off the vehicle speed sensor on each tire, 07+ has the pressure sensor on the valve stem of each tire. Your 08 will have the valve stem TPMS setup.
All cars sold in the United States from 07+ have a TPMS standard, its not optional.
*Edit* sorry just noticed you're in Canada, but you probably still have the valve stem sensor setup.
