If I can offer a suggestion since I just went through this boat. A V8 swap or going forced injection really requires a budget between $5k and $10k depending on who's doing the work and how its done.

We are now in an age where there are readily available swap in electric drivetrains for the same money. Consider this route while making your plans, even for the track it may slowly be a viable option.
I think this tech has the potential to keep our cars running far into the future. And...torque!
