Sticky Plastic Update
I used the 2 pieces from ebay as a sacrificial lamb. I rubbed the sticky part with lacquer thinner and it appears they are painted and the thinner does take that paint off to reveal a shiny plastic core. So it appears that the paint is failing and becoming sticky. Now I need to find a matching semi-gloss paint to repaint and match existing interior and I may be all set.
