I had my local Indie shop remove the CDV and I think the clutch does feel slightly more predicable. I didn't notice a dramatic difference but the clutch does feel great now.
Well done to Taylorguy74 for doing it yourself, I have bled many motorcycle clutch systems but I chickened out of doing the Zed! Ha
