Getting into RC flying is easy. Check out this forum with a section dedicated for beginners. You can get started for a couple hundred dollars.

Once you start flying heavier military RC planes it can become harder than flying a real plane. It's not uncommon for these planes to cost north of $20k and there is no insurance if you crash.
