It is very possible.
I DD'ed my Z4M for 2 years before picking up a 128i.
When I worked in another city than what I currently commute in, I was always traveling away from traffic, so I never sat in rush hour.
However, now I travel crowded roads, and stop and go isn't too friendly in the Z4M...it tends to not like it.
As well, I just wanted to keep mileage off the car, so that is why I picked up a 128.
I've also driven 5+ hours in the car, and never had an issue with comfort.
