Vanne, if you are looking for some inspiration pics, my roof, mirrors bottom portion of front bumper and bottom portion of rear bumper happen to be matt black already. So at least you could see how that will turn out.
I am happy i went with matt over a gloss black.

That being said if you have an opportunity to go with a complete respray, I would still stick with some for of red as a base colour, otherwise there will still be reminders of the red all over the frame and underbody.
Might I suggest keeping imola red but doing it as a "frozen" finish ?

If I had bottomless pockets that's what I would do with mine anyway.
