255/35 will rub on the front liners and require camber plates. If you’re ok with that then sure. I’m on 18x9 et31 apex ec7 squared Toyo r1r 255/35/18 on my roadster on koni yellow adjustables / eibach springs.

Edit: also like to add when talking about more grip when going wider pay close attention to your tire selection specs. Look at “tread width”. You’ll find out real quick that not all 255 width tires and so on when comparing sizes are created equal on width of footprint. Pending tire comparisons there are 275 width that have less tread contact than some 255s and so on. So certain 245 tires also will have more contact patch than some 255s.
