Pretty sure these cops are well familiar with her. Both videos they mention taking her to the hospital. In the first one they went and got her meds for her.
She is nuts, the discussion of bipolar seems evident everybody there knows the score. They are protecting her from herself both with self harm or harm to others.
It is sad, but I commend the Portland and Lake Oswego police for how they handle her. They know she is nuts.
That said, how many officers time is she wasting in these episodes. One cop and one social worker could have handled both calls. The rest of those cops could be out doing more satisfying police work and not dealing with this bullshit.
I am all for a COVID Karen freak out thread though. Watching people lose their shit over being denied entry to businesses is the most hilarious shit ever.
I saw some guy lose it at the apple store today. Security escorted him to a shady spot under a tree and had a calm conversation and deescalated the situation. It was pretty good to watch. No idea what he was mad about, maybe he overheated. It is 107 out here today. I did see that they gave him water and talked to him for at least 20 minutes. They gave everybody water out there and replaced my phone for free. Waived the $99 fee and didn't use one of my breakage things. That doesn't suck.
