Mediabridge 1500 Bluetooth Audio Quality

Hey all,

I purchased a refurbished Mediabridge 1500 from Amazon last week, and installed it without the DSP adapter because I had read a few posts stating that it wasn't necessary for our cars.

I have an 07 M Coupe with the DSP audio system.

The system is working correctly, my phone connects and I can stream bluetooth audio, however the sound quality is really poor. It basically sounds like you're listening to an audio source that's located "down a hallway," and has a lot of echo going on. I have all the DSP settings tuned with the "room" and "echo" effects turned completely off.

Is this an indication that the DSP adapter is necessary, or is the fact that's it's working at all showing the DSP adapter isn't necessary, and the audio quality is just that bad?

Cheers!
-Rob

Just as a note, I'm talking about streaming music sound quality, not phone call quality.
