Yea its a tough nut.

I ended up breaking all this little tabs off on mine for ease of removal.
You also need to slip a really small screwdriver( I used a scraper) vertically between the 2 half circle connector fingers and pry either way to spread them.
Then grip the wire on the metal connector end and pull.

A bit nerve racking to start but once you get the first one out you kind of know the amount of force to use and how much to spread the connector.

On reassembly be sure to crimp the spread connector down again with a pair of pliers.
