Luckily BMW won't need it any time soon, so that could change, or they could roll their own like Ford.
By the time BMW is ready to build small, AWD M vehicles, we may be onto a new platform with an electric motor sitting out back doing most of the work, with another one up front and the ICE there primarily for range extending. A lot can happen in ten years time.
