How is the leather carbon trim attached?

Just curious, how is the leather carbon trim attached to the dashboard? Is it glued on? Is it just like a sleeve/glove? Can it be reattached?

Was thinking of painting or using vinyl on my interior trim pieces: dash and center console, and was hoping to use the current one to try, and if it didn't come out well, reattach the leather.

I really dont know, but I highly doubt you can just slide it off. I think its fitted and glued/sewn to each trim piece. I dont think a vinyled or painted trim will look better than the carbon leather.

No thanks, don't want to trade, the carbon is slowly wearing out and I am looking for a non-stock option.

The center console is wearing out due to wear. The dash isn't looking great probably due to the top being down most of the time but isn't too bad. Problem is finding a way to match the console to the dash.

IIRC it's real leather right? Shoe polish can do remarkable things...
