Vanos air coupling tool
So I just got this air coupling to pressurize the Vanos when remove/replacing, and not surprisingly it doesn't fit my 1/4" industrial style quick disconnect.
It's not a 1/4" automotive or ARO either. The diameter is something between a 1/4" and 3/8". The tip on a 1/4" measures about 0.315", about 8mm. This thing is just under 0.4", about 10mm. Anybody have one of these and/or know what type of female coupling will fit? |

Bump.
Nobody on the East side of the pond recognizes this pneumatic coupling? Anybody know of a European heavy forum I could try? M3Forum.net was no help at all. Last edited by StickMon; 06-23-2013 at 11:09 PM.. |

Looks like euro/din coupling.
Like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/DRAPER-AIR-T...item35c7d2c0d0 Most used air couplings in europe are Euro/din, Orion and sometimes PCL (but there are loads others, really annoying)

yea that adapter looks perfect as it is a standard nipple size with that XF socket. No permenant changes are needed to any airlines or tools.

UPDATE!!
Thanks to bignosejim for all the answers.
This fits the BMW Vanos air adapter, and gets you to a 1/4 female NPT: McMaster 53445K19, European-Shape Hose Coupling. But it gets better. He didn't stop there. Get 6534K19 and 4936K153, screw them together, and you have a Vanos air adapter that fits a 1/4 Industrial Shape coupling for less than 12 bucks, instead of 30 bucks plus whatever couplings you may need.
