Who's in for a Z4/Z4M track day at Calabogie Motorsport Park

Hi guys and girls,

I would like to know if some of you would be interested in a track day at Calabogie Motorsport Park this summer. I can try to rent the track for one day during the week (ideally a friday). There is 4 condos available to rent directly at the track and/or we can do camping in the parking lot and take a beer the night before the event, no problem there. There is also some hotel/motel in the area.

I can organise that day with my friend's shop, VAG Motorsport in Laval, and there would be german and exotic car with us during the day to fill the rest of the spot left. There would be a maximum of 60 spots, 2 groups, 30 minutes session.

I think it would be nice to do it at Calabogie because it's not too far from you guys in Toronto (4h30min) and it's about 3H00 for people from Quebec province (Montreal area). I think that way we would be able to get a lot of Z4owner from Ontario and Qc together for a meet and put some faces on nicknames

It would cost around 360-380$ per driver for the track day.

So let me know if you are interested and if you perfer June/July/August.

Sounds interesting, my wife in her 1 series might be in as well. Never driven Calabogie before, is the plan to have some instructors for people new to this track or is it just an open run session?

I have Mosport at the end of June but otherwise all three months work.

What group are you with for Mosport?

I was considering Trilium club for beginning of June.
I just wish they'd let you book a single day instead of the whole weekend.

Going with Budds' where I bought the car. They do this each year. Last year was fun but I didn't know the car or the track. This year I should be experienced.

I love the track. If you go with Trillium let me know.

True; however you can run for as long as you wish to spend money on fuel. Cost per lap is far less than BMWCC Trillium - the food and beverages rock too and you get to ride in some serious equipment with well accomplished drivers if you wish.

Try calling Des Sie (Ass. Service Manager at BMW Toronto), he runs Mosport days through Sieya Motorsports (2-4 throughout the season). Cost is about $400 or so for the day 3 run groups, lots of track time, and instruction available all day at no additional fee. Head instructor's are Gerry Lo (does EA Days) and John Malher. Great food, great fun, and very safe. I've been doing a few days each year for the past few years, and my wife has started last year too. Can't recommend it enough.

Searchdev and I have been chatting about doing some sort of Gumball/Rally on the way up to Calabogie for those in Southern Not. Once we know the date for Calabogie, Peter and I will work on some sort of fun rally up there.

Right now, there is not enough people here interested to start a new track day for Z4 guys if there is only 5-10 of us interested. Track rental cost is expensive $$$$$.

I have a bunch of friends who rent the track on friday August 2nd. 7 sessions, 30 minutes sessions, 3h30 of track time.

It can be an option for us if you are all comfortable with that day.

I live in the NYC area but often times I've thought about doing a week trip full of track events. Starting up Calabogie and then work my way down to Watkins and Lime Rock lol.

There are a few BMW track days at Watkins Glen which would actually be closer for us in the Golden Horseshoe region. Would be a great drive there as well. Will dig up some info and post later.
