Trouble finding part number rear wheel arch trim
Hi all,
I seem to have lost a small piece of plastic trim from my passenger side rear wheel arch. It looks like a small mudflap but it's plastic and small. It's #10 here: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...52&hg=51&fg=75 However, although it appears in the schematic, RealOEM does not list the part associated with the number. Can anyone help me out and identify this part for me? TIA! |

I just ordered part #51717012729, Wheel-house inner panel, rear left, #3 in the diagram. My left rear wheel well liner needs to be replaced because of the previous owner's too-aggressive 19" wheels and tire setup rubbed through the outside edge.
Has anyone replaced a rear wheel well liner before? I had to replace the right front wheel well in my wife's 335is and it was pretty straightforward. Any tips or tricks I need to know about?

Nothing really difficult or no special knowledge needed. The holes in the liner line up with posts or female threads on the car. Remember to look closely as to how the liner fits around the outside edge, I took a picture before I took mine off. It can be done with the wheel on, but lots easier with it off.

Awesome, cheers!
Edit: Weird, by the way, that the part is indicated for non-M Z's only. That's why I couldn't find it somehow, I guess. Puzzling. Last edited by dazed^; 12-28-2012 at 03:12 PM. |

The wheel liner will take about 10min (with tire removed) to replace. It is very easy.
Do not know if this helps you to visualize it, its the only pic of the rear in that area. ![]() |
