BMW Z4 3.0si Coupe 2007, 6MT

I've been bitten by the p-car bug and it's a milestone birthday next year, so it's time. Alas, this means that my Z4 needs to sold and since these cars can take a while to find a buyer, I am listing it early. Here is what you need to know:

2007 Z4 3.0si Coupe

- 6-speed Manual Transmission
- Silvergray Metallic
- Black Leather interior
- ZSP - Sport Package
- Premium Audio
- DVD Navigation
- HID Xenons
- Bluetooth (yes, I have the pin code)
- BMW Assist
- AUX
- VIN (send me a PM)

My Mods:
- M-Steering Wheel
- M-Sport Shift Knob
- LeatherZ Armrest Extension
- Short Antenna
- Painted rear reflectors

------

The car has 79k miles. I bought it a year ago with about 76.5k miles - these could only have been highway miles.

Also - the car has new pads/rotors (under a year old) and a brand new OEM BMW battery that I purchased a few months ago.

I don't have a service history on the car but the car fax was clean when I bought it and I did call a BMW dealer prior to purchasing and there were no red flags. Similarly, I had a PPI done when I bought the car and they gave it a clean bill of health.

Asking price is $18k obo based on a nationwide Autotrader search for similar cars.

Please PM me with questions and/or interest. More than happy to take the car to a local PPI at the buyer's expense.

Some cellphone pics taken yesterday:

Some better pics taken earlier in the year:

Just wanted to add: anyone willing to purchase this vehicle will be in good hands with the seller. Lots of care and detail is available for anyone needing additional information on the vehicle!

They're not pictured, but I also swapped the OEM silver kidney grills for black. Makes it look meaner. Still for sale!

Congratulations on selling, although it sounds a bit bittersweet.

I guess we can only hope you'll have the same connection with the next car. Which will be? Yes, I know it's going to be a Porsche, but which MY and model?

Thanks man. I'm honestly not sure where to go next. I freakin loved this little Z-coupe and if I'd had room to keep it, I would have. The way I'm feeling tonight - if the buyer called and offered it back to me I'd probably say yes! I really thought it would have taken longer to sell the Coupe so I wasn't mentally ready to part with it.

Still... onwards on to the next toy. I really like the 981 Boxster and Cayman, but by the time I have one configured to the spec. I want, I'm north of $70k and I don't want to take that big of a depreciation hit on a new car. It will be a weekend car only so it doesn't make a lot of sense to buy it and watch the money drain while it's garaged. That's probably the source of my sellers remorse tonight - the car I want won't be prevalent on the used market for a while.

I might look at 987 Boxster S or even a 997 911 Carrera which can be had for more reasonable money. I just want to stay away from anything earlier than an 2009 for fear of the engine detonating... (Google Porsche IMS issue)

We will see. Ah, first world problems...

Totally agree about pre 2009. Sold my 07 Cayman S due to IMS and oil starvation potential.

I hope you find it's as much fun as the Z! Yep, first world problems!

Interesting - you went from a Cayman S to a Z4M and I'm looking to do the opposite. Other than the reliability issue how did you like the car? I really like the Cayman/Boxster series.

Great and detailed write up and I totally get why you switched - the Z4M is one hell of a ride. I doubt that the S54 would have swayed me - this P-car bug is tenacious and cannot be reasoned with.

Just to rant some more about what contributed to your selling the Cayman - this damn IMS issue is a travesty. Porsche really cost themselves a lot of loyalty with it. Current owners of 2008 or earlier car must be furious because potential used vehicle buyers like myself won't go near one! Their values are going to plummet as the 2009's come off lease and make their way into the market.
