Replacing Dash Trim
Hi Guys,
I was able to pick up a dash trim set recently and am in the process of taking out my current trim before I can put in the new one. I removed the vents and the headunit and am currently trying to get the dash piece out. I read from a Z4forum thread that there are clips that secure the dash trim to the dash in addition to the screws on the headunit / vent area. I haven't seen them but I can feel these when I reach in behind the dash itself. Does anyone know how to take these off? Thanks in advance Below is a pic from the z4forums thread of these clips ![]() |

the one pictured is the type of clip that stays on. and you pull the trim straight out with force. HOWEVER, there is a special clip on the far right of the dash piece that you need to remove (kinda like a hand grenade pin) before you do anything else. Curved needle nose pliers and an inspection mirror will do the trick.

yep only the two places you have to remove stuff before you just start pulling
The screws around the vent/radio and the pin next to the passenger cup holder
