Exhaust Drone

I just installed the RE Diablos I purchased from another forum member. They sound great but they drone a little to much for me, and a lot too much for my fiancé. I was about to order some SS Race cans but I'm reading that they also drone. Can anyone who has heard and ridden in cars with each installed weigh in on the degree of drone? I know this topic has been discussed quite a bit but I'm not sure how severe the drone is with the SS. I know many, many people are happy with them. Thanks!

PS, the Diablos will be up for sale as soon as I figure out a replacement!

Wow! Great price too! Thanks for the info. Ordering...

Also, love your wheel/tire/suspension setup. That's pretty much what I'm shooting for.

They will take a while to be built and arrive, but it's worth the wait.

And thanks.

Very much looking forward to hearing about your experience with the Stromungs when you get them. I may go down that route if it works out for you.

I just bought the AA headers in the FS section. I'll let you know how they sound with the stromung when I get them on.

Where are you located in So Cal? You can PM me your location if preferred. Would greatly be appreciated if you can offer a listen once you get it. I'm also considering Stromung as well. Thanks.

amr2, if you're lucky. Not at all. VAC was unable to fill my order so I contacted Strumong directly and they had one set left in stock. Otherwise I hear it's like 2-3 weeks.

Also, I highly recommend going directly to Strumong. Scott was really helpful and answered all my questions.

itdnwiwbp; did you get your Strumong? I got lucky and picked one up off a forum member, and thus far am very happy with it!

Yes! I've had them on for a couple of weeks now and couldn't be more pleased.

Stromung is best bang for the buck. There weren't much interest with GB last year. Exhaust is very subjective. I think it is perfect balance with low note and volume when you want. Very subtle at cruising speed. It gets louder after Euro headers and X-Pipe.

I was quite annoyed with my Diablos for a long while, but now they're manageable. I don't know if they've quieted down (from carbon deposits) or I've just gotten used to it. I can't see myself going with anything less now.

I had the stromung for about 3 days, with euro headers the drone was annoying. I now have Remus and love it. If you are not going to do headers I would go with Stromung, otherwise Remus.

I have headers, no cats, and one resonated AeroTurbine muffler and almost zero drone! It is LOUD under throttle but not bad at all other times. I have a video posted with an in car in another thread.

which aeroturbine muffler? I think they'd make good secondary cat replacements

It is 3" in and out with an "intergrated" resonater so it is all one unit. It is center mounted just after the headers. Headers into one 3" through muffler split back out, out the back.
