OP - Do you track the car?

If not, I think it's a poser move and utterly stupid.

x10

Plus I rarely leave it on before/after an event, usually I'm just too lazy.

Not negative, just have some common sense.

It's the same as putting a huge wing in your back of a dodge neon. Think of it that way.

Hard to be positive when someone throws a tow hook on just for looks. And it looks lame...

people put tow hooks in front and rear in Asia just to protect themselves from others making "mistakes" in parallel parking.

Ah, what's the purpose of the hook on the track? Are you racing or just doing HPDE? Are there that many gravel traps or is the car that unreliable? Seems like a "poser move" either way.

It's to tow you if you get into gravel, put yourself into a wall (or tires)...etc

Brake failure can happen (with OEM pads and fluid) or common driver error. It happens, of course you never want to do that...but you never know.

Mid-Ohio, the closest track to me, has 5 gravel traps. Turn 1, club course chicane, keyhole exit to china beach, china beach (I think that one explains itself) and the carousel.

They're nice tow hooks, and look good as tow hooks go (darn good in fact). As a dress-up for a shoot or show & shine I like them. Can see them for the track as well.

All I know is that I'd just be concerned someone would walk off with them!

In that case I most certainly will be giving you the point by on the freeway.

It's neither...

*knock on wood* but if you hit a wall, how else is emergency crew supposed to pull you out? And most if not all organizations require a tow hook for track days regardless.

I have the same, from Rennline, and yes I mainly use the car for track. Need the tow hooks also for pulling into the trailer.

That poser/utterly stupid post got me fired up a little, so I decided to play devil's advocate. Reminded me of how people reacted to one of my posts about front euro license plates. I get it, some people are just dicks. Especially on the forums, I'm guilty myself sometimes. Enjoy your hooks!
