Would anyone in the Bay Area be interested in a dyno day/meet/get-together? Runs will be done on a DynaPack 2WD 4000 (hooks directly to wheel hubs).

Pricing (confirmed): $75 per car for 3 baseline runs, including printout
- Cash or credit accepted, but I'm willing to bet that cash is probably more preferred

Restrictions:
- manual transmission only, as SMGs are a pain in the ass to dyno
- two-wheel drive only, no AWDs
- We need at least 10 cars total to receive the dyno day pricing

San Jose is too far for me, but Pleasanton or thereabouts isn't quite so bad. Aleks has put on several dyno days and seems to have no trouble getting quite a few cars. Let us know if he's doing one in the near future--I forget to check for those threads now that I'm not over on the M3 forum anymore.

Those guys on M3forum failed ultra hard

They were all saying how there was going to be one beginning of April, but it never happened. In any case, I'm in China right now for overseas internship. Won't be back in the U.S. until early July.

Thus far, it seems the Zpost community from NorCal that's actually interested in paying for a dyno day are:

^ that's only four people. We'd need at least 10 I think to hold any dyno days. And even then, I'm not sure where to go. Don't have any access to affordable DynoJets. Only possibly DynaPacks, but some people don't prefer those since they're not run on rollers.

That sucks. I might have a friend interested as well. He's on the Porsche side and could possibly round up some folks as well. Just shot him an IM and will see what he says. I also work with him, so can def find out. lol

How is internship going, are you surviving not having your z4mc with you, or did you have it shipped. haha

When in July are you returning? We need to hang.

Oh that'd be great. If we have at least 10 cars total, I'm sure I can call around and ask for a deal at one of the many DynoJet places in the Bay Area.

I'll be returning early July. If my visa allowed, I would've actually probably opted to stay here until mid-August before school starts up again =]

Internship has been pretty cool. Prior to arrival, I thought I'd only survive a couple weeks at best (since the factory is in the middle nowhere). But it's actually not too bad. I live on-site with quite a few higher-level execs and officers. Only these people get allocated rooms in the on-site dorms, and since my dad is the plant manager here, I get special accommodations as well
Everything here is cheap as hell, and I'm absolutely lovin' it. Some of my elders took my to a massage parlor too albeit, it was a clean one, not with happy endings or anything lolll
That was quite enjoyable

I get my own car (a pretty much new white on tan interior VW Scirocco 1.4L twin-charged: 1 supercharger, and 1 turbo ), and my own personal secretary.
My secretary is bangin'! Gotta thank the CEO for hooking me up

I'm helping out at an American company's Chinese factory, and since my dad is plant manager, I'm very close with the CEO. In fact, often times, I tour the factory with him and translate for him


I do miss my cars back at home, especially the Z4MC, but it can't be helped haha. If in the future I decided on moving here altogether, I'll somehow get the car shipped over.
I heard though that they're really strict here about modifications done to cars. But since my dad has some hookups in the reigning police department, hopefully they'll be able to help me pull some strings =P

So, it looks like all I can manage to get is a DynaPack dyno day. I'm in the midst of hashing out pricing per car, but it should be $75 for 3 baseline runs. Location would be in Santa Clara, CA and the date will be after August 7th (assuming the shop has time).
The shop owner is actually an MR2 specialist, and I'm good friends with him. So everyone will be well taken care of
He's held BMW-only dyno days before for M3forum and they were all very happy. The SMG cars though had some issues getting the car to dyno properly
So let's keep this a manual transmission only gathering please
