Removing Airbag Sticker??

I did this a long time ago on my GTI, but I forgot what you use?

Also, is it possible to remove the decal from a leather covered sun visor without damaging the leather?

hair dryer and spatula for the visors. i did this about a year after i bought my car new and it left a black outline of the sticker.

Thanks, but I think that black outline will drive me crazy. I guess it's better then the sticker. I would have just ordered replacements but the leather covered ones are like $300, the standard ones are $25 I believe.

It is done.

Went and bought some Goof Off at Home Depot, popped off the visors, applied a thin layer on the decal and within 30 seconds the decal starts to bubble up. I put a little Goof Off on a rag to wipe up the decal remnants (turning often), finished with a clean rag (Goof Off) to remove any excess decal, then wiped with a leather conditioner.

You can see just the slightest trace of the decal, but you have to look close at the right angle, in the car I can't even see it.

In the past, I always left the visors on the car, it is 100 times easier to do when you remove them.

No residual "stink" from the Goof Off in the car? If that's the case, then there's something Skelekitty can tackle of the holidays. She swears by Goof Off for a lot of things (painting, crafting, etc.)....

No heat, the Goof Off bubbled up the sticker.

As for stink, I did it in my office (the office stinks now) cleaned them up and installed, didn't notice any smell, but then I haven't driven home yet.

I just got home, just a faint smell of Goof Off in the car, so I drove with the windows down.

Leave the stickers there - cover with 3M carbon fiber peel and stick carbon fiber looking material....the matte finish totally blends in with the visor finish - looks great - no risk to the visor trying to remove the stickers. Since the visor airbag stickers are not inset, cut the 3M product appx 1/8" larger than to ensure perfect coverage.

anyone else try this prodcut? i think this is the way i'd rather go

just ordered the 3m vinyl carbon fiber in matte black. hopefully the finish is right on with the visors
