Hi all, long time forum lurker, newbie member from the other side of the world 'down under'.

Been two years+ with my love, and I wouldn't trade it in for anything in the world... but I would find it a partner

Hope ya appreciate it as much as I

Z4Nick, we have quite a few folks in AZ, should be some local or fairly close to you. Hang out awhile, you'll see who they are.

Nubzub, first, welcome, and feel free to jump in!

Uh, yeah, I like it alright! Nice plate as well--don't those cost a bundle? (I seem to recall a thread about the high price of custom plates down under.)

Oh, and what exhaust is that?

I agree with finding it a partner. That's what we did, always a great plan.

Not sure how much custom plates cost in the US, but down under its $500 a set.

Exhaust is ACS.

Haha, I've always been itching to compare the Z4M to the SLK55, and the missus likes one of those, so it may be the 'partner'. If not, it'll either be something practical like the C63 or ideally impractical like the GT3

I always like to go "impractical", but I'm kind of crazy that way.

Get a beer in hand, take a long drink, okay...in California a personalized plate runs 49.00 and 38.00 annually to renew. Yes, we are spoiled rotten with prices here, hence the 'pup and 'kitty. (My wife is an artist--those are characters she's painted/developed as part of her portfolio. It's also her username on the forum.)

Custom plate (lettering) is $25, custom designed (colors) plate is an additional $25. Annual renewal fee of $5. Booyah!

That is about as cheap as it gets methinks.

Hi to all,

I happily took delivery of M Coupe #635 of 1815 today.

Some you guys might recall a for sale thread not too long ago for a Monaco Blue Coupe:
http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=520261

I was fortunate enough to have the privilege of purchasing the car.

Pics below, apologize for the subpar quality.

Congratulations! Under 10K miles, I'm jealous! Love that color too.

Well, BTM should be happy as he said "Whoever ends up buying this better post an Intro thread..." Posting here and checking in.

Thanks Finn!

I had my heart set on an IB or Space Gray or even Black.

Wasn't too gung-ho about Monaco Blue but as soon as it rolled off the truck, that opinion was soon changed.

I came close to pulling the trigger on some other Moupes that have been for sale but most of them did not work out.

I was lucky enough to be browsing the net during lunch at work one fateful friday. haha.

New here.

2003 Z4 3.0 sport, bright red.

Only changes so far are new OEM brembo rotors and Hawk pads.
Plan on new tires soon, hopefully ditch these runflats. Also hopefully a short shifter (hate the floppy stock one) and a limited slip before the end of the year.
I am trying to Auto-x at least once a month, I used to autox and drift but took a couple years off towards the end of college. San diego = top down 99% of the time.

Also, I am fortunate enough through my work (w/out full disclosure we'll just say i am a vehicle dynamics analyst working for a small private company) to where I have access to Racelogic Vbox equipment and software, as well as a few accelerometers. I've been logging data at track days and plan on doing quantitative analysis as i upgrade to see if the $$$ is really worth it (although my driving will have to improve as I go too ). I might start a blog to share that info.

A few pics:
From autocross at Qualcomm w/ BMWCCA

A screen from the VBox software showing logged racing lines, speed/brake switch/acceleration graph, and lateral vs longitudinal g's

Overall I love the car. Great color that photographs wayyyy better than the other cars on the track, comfortable and quiet on the freeway for a convertible, good ride, decent power,

oh yeah

34 mpg on the freeway.

BTW, my daily driver does a 10 second 1/4 mile so I don't really feel like I need the M version:

Welcome. I'm interested, and I'm sure others will be as well, in that Vbox and the associated data.

Vert is the right decision for San Diego!

And yeah, no real reason to have the "M" version when you've got that 2 wheeled "M version".
