Got my car lift installed
Well, it took a little longer to get this thing hooked up than I planned.
But it is definitely worth it. I only wish I had gotten one years ago. One of the surprises I got was that it's a 3hp motor. The spec when I ordered said 1 hp. That meant a little more electrical work to get it installed. Good news; I know a good electrician that works cheap. Bad news; it's a bitch to get him on the job. On to the lift...... I decided on a scissor lift mainly because I wanted 360° unimpeded access around the car, and I didn't want posts in the way in the parking space. The downside of this lift is the obstructed center chassis, but as it turns out I don't think it's going to be a problem at all. The 1st cross member up front is behind the tranny and the rear is even more un-obstructed. Doing a cat back install would be a bit of a problem but also doable. The lift comes with a riser kit that adds 6" addition clearance. The lift seems very stable & secure & got the resident worrier's seal of approval. & the pics.....

Yes there is a mechanical lock.
You depressurize the hydraulics and it lowers a tad onto the lock.

Wow!
Super jealous. That would make life so much easier. Looks like a very substantial lift. Congrats! It looks like the access to the undercarriage is much better than I thought it would be. Do you have to take the lift all the way up each time you use it, or can it be brought up half way to a detailing level? Either way, it's pretty awesome. Very very cool.

Yes.
IIRC the lift is 5.75", so even with stock height you might need something. I'm lowered on Dinan/Koni struts & springs so that makes it even more problematic. Parking is no problem (that's why the double wide boards) I'm still working on a more permanent solution. Getting it aligned to the lift is a little tricky though. I'm thinking about mounting a laser on the workbench that will shoot an alignment line/beam to the fender.

Nice, and I'm jealous also.
I see you took this opportunity to actually use the lift (looks like no exhaust cans out back). How stable does it feel? Wondering if there is any wobble if you were to fall against the car or tug on a stuck bolt.

I bought it from Greg Smith Equipment.
After I found what I wanted, I found them on ebay as well. I saved an extra $100 on ebay. Mine is model #TD6MR IDK what shipping costs are, I picked mine up. If I was doing it again, I'd go up one model to the Pro 6MR It has a few more options & longer swing arms
