Z4 M Apex ARC-8 Wheels have arrived!

Here are 2 quick pics I took with my Blackberry.

Hyper Black 18x9.5, 245/40/18F and 18x10R, 275/35/18R.

Wow..The concave looks tight on the front....Maybe I need to trade out the 8.5" for the 9.5" > wonder if they will go for it? Any rubbing? Flush with fender? One more ? Coilovers or lowering springs?

I'm on lowered on KW V3's. My alignment settings are on the aggressive side, since I also track my car once in a while. Currently running 3.5 degrees camber up front and 2.5 in the back, so I needed 10mm spacers up front in order to clear the front struts. I have minimal rubbing on the plastic fender liner/front bumper junction area, but no big deal. I like the extra contact patch up front and the extra steering response I get with the wider wheels.

My car is Titanium Silver BTW.

That setup looks great. What tires are those? It's hard to tell from the pictures.

What plates are you using to get 3.5 up front? Vorshlag?

Just got back from a DE event at Putnam Park in Indiana. It is a great track. 1.8 miles, 10 turns and lots of run off room. The car and it's new wheels/tires worked great. Among all the Porsches the Z4M attracted a lot of attention, all of it positive. Everyone seems to love the M Coupe, including me!!!

Thanks! My tires are NT-01's up front, and Maxxis prototype race compound tires in the back that I'm testing for the company.

Since this is not my main track toy, I was not too concerned about the adjustibility of the suspension, thus I'm just using shims to get the desired camber up front.

Guess I'll stick to my original plan and keep the 8.5" up front. In hand plus I know they wont rub. I think my -1.6' camber would rub with the 9.5 up front.

That's probably a good plan.
I just can't see running that much camber on anything other than a dedicated track car.

Plus I dont want to have to wax another set of front wheels. Man, two coats of wax took some time, even with the wheels on my lap.

Hmmm... I am wondering if I could get away with running less camber up front. I would prefer not to run more then -2.5 in the front. I think I could get away with running a 5mm spacer like another guy on the board that is running 9.5 fronts because my struts are a bit more skinny then the KW v3. Is it the actual wheel that would rub the strut with out the spacer or the tire? When I went to a 255/35/18 from a 245/40/18 R888 I get rid of all my rubbing

The more neg camber that is dialed in; the bigger the spacer.

I just noticed that he is using shims to get more negitive camber... it makes sense now why he has to run a larger spacer. When dialing in more camber with a camber plate the the strut moves with the wheel thereby keeping the spacing between the strut and wheel the same. When using shims like I have in the past and dialing in more negitive camber the shims cause the wheel to move closer to the strut. I think I should be fine with a 5mm spacer and -2.5

Thanks for the compliments guys. I love these wheels. They are light, strong, great looking, and functional. I've been pretty busy at work lately, so I haven't had a chance to take more picture. I'll try to get more pics up soon.

F360C, you are definitely going to be ok without spacers if you dial in your camber using a camber plate, and -2.5 is more than sufficient to clear the fenders. Both of my other friends who are running 18x9.5 +35 up front are running without spacers. Both are using 255/35/18 tires up front.

With my current setup, my wheels can actually barely clear the strut body with a 5mm spacer, but I wanted a bit extra space just to be safe.

Both cars look great. I have 8.5x18 front and 9.5x18 rear ARC 8's in hyperblack on my 06 Z4M roadster. I'm totally pleased with them and would recommend them to anyone who likes the look they offer. Best bang for the buck I found.

man, i can see the camber on the front! that looks like a lot! how does it handle off-track with that setup?

I really like the added camber with the 9.5" wheels up front. Steering response and turn-in became super sharp with the slightly stretched sidewalls. Understeer is virtually nonexistent with this setup.

There are a few downsides to this setup. Stretched sidewalls will make the ride become a bit harsher, and the added camber will tend to make tires tramline a bit more than normal, but I'm used to driving cars lots of camber, so it is no big deal with me. Also, tires may wear out faster on the inside if you drive mostly on the freeway in a straight line and not doing much cornering. But since I run 0 toe up front, and take my car on canyon runs and trackdays, that should not be much of a concern for me.
