I use a valet keychain so that I don't leave my house keys with valets, mechanics, etc. But also so I don't have to carry my car keys when I know I'm not going to be driving.

The "J" part of the keychain was my father's. I won't ever replace that. The carabiner allows me to quickly switch between my Z4 key and my X5 key.

I have completely separate keychains for all vehicles. I had a big remote start fob on my truck as well as a bottle opener so it's a paint o carry around when not driving the truck (usually just leave the keys inside the truck anyway)

My motorcycle just has my gym card, house key, mailbox key and bike key. Don't need it rattling around when I'm riding

BMW key fob used

The key fob I use on my key chain is the USMC dog tag that I wore 45 years ago when in military service.

These are all good!

I stopped using a fob with the Coupe because my last ignition switch (after 24 years) was pretty loose due to the additional weight of the fob and house key etc. I know, CF and leather are light but I've learned my lesson. And yes, I'll probably be driving the Z4M 15 years from now too.

Now I use a light duty carabiner. Each key has its own ring. I select the key I need, put the rest in my pocket... and drive. The carabiner clips to a belt loop, a gym-bag strap (inside), inside a fanny pack, etc. No lost keys.

Every year or so I get a new anodized carabiner in a novelty color. Works for me.

My darling bride's X5 starts as long as the "key" is somewhere on my person. I admit I prefer that.

I've looked at folding key shells with thoughts of doing a key transplant but haven't moved on that yet....

I'm rocking a mickey mouse silhouette key chain.

Nothing fancy about it, but it is somewhat sentimental given that I've used it with every car I've owned.

From a practical point of view, it's easy to spot, light weight, no pointed edges to scratch up against the car lol.

Keychain

I use the leather one to keep from scratching up the column. I won the Motorsport one as a door prize.

My wife gave me this one when I got my //M. Works fine for me as I don't have many keys on it and it also keeps the keys pretty high and off my leg.
